The Brass Retreat: Walk-In Bath & Accessible Shower Installation

A walk-in bathing solution designed around comfort, safety and character

Walk-in bath with an accessible shower

The challenge:: accessibility whilst being stylish

This project centred on creating a fully accessible bathroom that didn’t compromise on personality. The clients required a walk-in bath and a separate accessible shower, designed to support ease of use while reflecting their distinctive style preferences.

A key requirement was to eliminate standard chrome finishes, instead opting for a warmer, more character-led aesthetic. Alongside accessibility, the space needed to feel cohesive, practical, and tailored to their day-to-day routine.

Our solution:: a sleek, sophisticated walk-in bath

We designed and installed a bespoke mobility bathroom combining both a walk-in bath with a built-in seat and a separate accessible shower area, ensuring flexibility for different bathing needs.

To meet the client’s design vision, we incorporated:

  • A steampunk-style thermostatic bath filler
  • Exposed brass shower fittings for a unique, premium finish
  • Full retiling of the wet area and flooring to create a seamless, easy-to-maintain space
  • Custom bathroom furniture to maximise storage without compromising accessibility
  • An illuminated cabinet with a demister and integrated shaver socket for added convenience

Every element was carefully selected to balance accessible design principles with a bold, personalised aesthetic, ensuring the space is both functional and visually striking.

The results:: improved safety & greater independence

The finished bathroom delivers a safe, accessible, and highly individual space tailored to the clients’ needs.

By combining a walk-in bath for comfort and relaxation with a practical accessible shower, the new layout supports greater independence and ease of use—key priorities in any mobility-focused bathroom design.

The addition of warm metallic finishes, smart storage solutions, and cohesive design details has transformed the room into a space that feels:

  • Luxurious yet practical
  • Accessible without looking clinical
  • Unique to the homeowners

This project is a strong example of how thoughtful accessible bathroom design can enhance both quality of life and overall home enjoyment.
