This project showcases how a thoughtfully designed wet room for elderly independent living can transform daily routines—combining safety-first features with a warm, homely aesthetic.

This project centred on improving bathroom safety and accessibility for an elderly client living independently. Over time, using a traditional bath had become increasingly difficult and unsafe, with reduced stability raising the risk of slips and falls.

Her family wanted to create a safer, more accessible bathroom environment that restored confidence while preserving dignity and comfort at home.

The key priorities were:

• Eliminating difficult access points
• Reducing slip hazards
• Creating a space that felt calm, familiar, and non-clinical

We designed and installed a bespoke mobility wet room tailored to the client’s current and future needs.

Key features included:

• Low-level offset quadrant shower: Providing easy, step-free access for safer daily use
• Integrated grab rails and support features: Offering stability without compromising on design
• Slip-resistant safety flooring: Minimising the risk of falls in a high-moisture environment
• Fitted bathroom furniture: Maximising usability while maintaining a clean, modern look

Every detail was carefully considered to strike a balance between accessible bathroom design and contemporary style. This is a core principle of effective mobility adaptations.

The finished space is a modern, future-proof wet room that supports safe, independent living while feeling comfortable and inviting.
